A big renovation and conversion projects aims for LEED Gold certification.
Summit Design + Build, LLC has recently begun the complete renovation and conversion of an existing multi-story 42,744 square foot warehouse building into an office complex at 1071 W. Division in Chicago, Ill. The building which is situated at the southeast corner of Division and North Branch Streets was formerly home to Burhop Box & Packaging. 1071 Division Development, LLC is the owner/developer of the project.
The project requires the demolition of a portion of a first floor addition and the demolition of the entire fourth floor of the east half of the building and includes extensive masonry restoration, the installation of 3 new stair shafts and elevator, new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and new windows and doors throughout. The building’s interior will feature a combination of drywall, exposed brick and exposed wood ceilings in tenant spaces and lobbies. SKJN Architekten Corp. is the architect for the project which is seeking LEED Gold certification.
