General Contracting | Construction Management | Design + Build
We spent a beautiful Saturday working in Chicago’s West Pullman neighborhood. We worked with teams and residents on three houses, building and installing stairs, framing walls for garages and first and second floor bathrooms, and installing drywall.
In the months leading up to Build Day, our employees, friends, family, clients and subcontractors helped raise $13,700, surpassing our original goal by 203%.
As a ‘Recreation Enthusiast’ sponsor, Summit helps JCYS provide educational and recreational experiences. These programs are available for children and families throughout Chicago. Summit Design + Build also regularly participates in JCYS events including the annual JCYS Gala and Golf Fore! JCYS outing benefiting Camp Red Leaf.
JCYS has provided services at their family centers, summer camps and specialty programs for over 100 years, and Summit Design + Build is proud to be a sponsor for the second consecutive year.
In April 2016, Summit Design + Build put together a team to participate in the 3rd Annual Sterling Bay 5K to 1K in support of Cara Chicago.
About Cara Chicago: Cara, a West Loop-based non-profit, prepares individuals to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty. Cara has placed over 5,000 Chicagoans into quality jobs which helped them transform their lives, strengthen their communities and forge paths to self-sufficiency.
In August 2017, the Summit Design + Build team headed out to Feed My Starving Children’s Schaumburg facility to participate in a meal packing. In just an hour and a half, our team along with other volunteers packed a total of 81 boxes which contained over 17,000 meals, enough to feed 48 kids for a full year. In addition to volunteering our time, Summit employees also helped raise money for Feed My Starving Children prior to the packing.
Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit organization that provides nutritionally complete meals for malnourished children through food partners across the globe.
