Summit Design + Build and Akara partner to complete construction of Linkt Chicago

TOD one of the latest to open amidst Milwaukee Avenue development boom

CHICAGO – Chicago general contractor, Summit Design + Build, LLC, along with Akara Partners, recently completed the construction of LINKT Chicago, the bKL Architecture designed transit oriented development in River West along the Milwaukee Avenue corridor.

The five-story, 55,300 square foot building delivered 47 apartments, 24 parking spaces and 3,000 square feet of ground floor retail space. Studio, one, two and three-bedroom units feature high-end finishes throughout, including quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances and large floor-to-ceiling windows. One of the latest residential developments along Milwaukee Avenue, and Akara’s second development in the neighborhood, LINKT also delivers on amenities with a fitness studio, green roof and patio with outdoor grilling stations and fire pits.

The unique angular design of the building’s stainless steel panel façade was intended to limit light pollution from the traffic on busy Milwaukee and Elston avenues. Fun and unique design features are also found inside the corridors, with artwork and murals inspired by the building’s surrounding neighborhoods and body art from local Chicago residents.
