Summit Design + Build completes build-out of new innovation center and office.
CHICAGO – Chicago general contractor, Summit Design + Build, LLC, recently completed the interior build-out of offices for Golden State Foods at 322 S. Green Street in Chicago’s West Loop. Golden State Foods moved their regional operations from an office in Oak Brook following McDonald’s move to the neighborhood.
Golden State Foods, one of the largest diversified suppliers to the quick service restaurant and retail industries, now occupies 4,300 square-feet on the fifth floor of an existing office building at 322 S. Green Street. The new location includes open office space with desks for up to six people, conference room with a custom table, commercial test kitchen with walk-in freezer and cooler, customer experience zone, and reception area with guest lounge.
To complete the build-out, Summit managed a detailed scope including:
- new MEPs tied into the existing system with a new rooftop unit,
- polished concrete floors in the offices and lounge,
- vinyl flooring in the test kitchen,
- all new commercial grade kitchen equipment,
- DIRTT glass storefront,
- and all new light fixtures, paint and custom millwork.
Ware Malcomb and Cushman & Wakefield served as the project architect and owner’s representative respectively. This is the second project completed by Summit Design + Build and Ware Malcomb for Golden State Foods. The project recently received the People’s Choice Award at the IIDA Illinois RED Awards for exemplary design.
