Speculative warehouse another sign of strong industrial market

CHICAGO, IL – Chicago general contractor Summit Design + Build recently began construction on a new 156,000 square foot speculative warehouse and distribution building at 2420 S. Wood Street in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, another area in the city seeing the impact of rapid industrial growth.

“Our team has been handling a lot of industrial work as of late, both ground-up speculative and renovation,” said Brian Sundermann, Senior Project Manager, Summit Design + Build. “It is a sign of how strong the industrial market is right now.”

Summit Design + Build will be handling the new construction of the precast and steel warehouse as well as associated site work. The development, referred to as Pilsen Park Chicago, comes from Chicago-based Clarius Partners and Wanxiang America Real Estate Group and is being marketed by Mark Nelson and Doug Hayes of NelsonHill as prospective dry or freezer/cooler food processing and storage space.

Ware Malcomb is providing architectural services for the project.
